Raiders 1 - 4 Steeldogs

January 9, 2022 - 17:15

Everyone Active Raiders suffered a 4-1 defeat on home ice to Sheffield Steeldogs following an impressive 5-0 win over the same opponents 48 hours earlier.
A hat-trick from Jason Hewitt and a Lee Bonner power play marker ensured the Steeldogs went home with the two points and bounced back to winning ways.
Former Sheffield Steelers forward Hewitt opened the scoring after just 30 seconds, although the hosts pulled level through Jake Sylvester at 10.05.
Hewitt doubled his tally just over six minutes into the second period which is how it stayed until the 45th minute when Bonner struck with the Steeldogs on the man advantage following a slashing call on Lukas Sladkovsky.
Raiders pushed for an unlikely way back, Ethan James was pulled from their net, allowing Hewitt to complete his hat-trick with 16 seconds remaining.
Head coach Sean Easton and his side will now hope to bounce back when they face MK Lightning back-to-back this weekend.
