Raiders continue their form against top teams

February 12, 2024

Raiders were in fine form Sunday as they took to the ice with a loud crowd and some good optimism after their Friday night point from League Leaders Leeds.

That confidence immediately converted to a 2 goal lead by the first break with a fine short handed break away by Brandon Ayliffe and a goal crease redirection by Blaho Novak.

The lead increased to 4, before Hull could reply, courtesy of Adam Laishram and a powerplay break away from Tjay Anderson. Sobchak getting the solitary Hull reply.

Brandons second, another short handed break away from George Norcliffe, a tip in from Jesper Eriksson and a blue line blast from Mikey Power rounded up the Raiders scoring in this 8-2 win with Nathem Salem’s goal at least giving Hull the last word.

As Raiders shake off injury and player woes, they home in on the final play-off places and would certainly be the surprise package few teams would want to be paired with if it decided the Coventry attendees.

Raiders look forward to hosting the Telford Tigers this Saturday 17th February and a win would close the gap to the 6th placed Shropshire side and possible leap the Raiders into 7th place in the league given the “right” results at Bees and Solway.
