Raiders 9 - 1 Phantoms

Everyone Active Raiders bounced back to winning ways with an emphatic 9-1 victory over Peterborough Phantoms to end a four game losing streak.

A brace from Erik Piatak and goals from Brandon Ayliffe, Ollie Baldock, Rio Grinell-Parke, Callum Wells, Sean Barry, Jake Sylvester and James Hounsome helped them cruise to victory against a depleted Phantoms side through injury and Covid.

The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period thanks to goals from Ollie Baldock and Erik Piatak.

The first coming early on in the contest as Sylvester and Grinell-Parke linked up before finding centreman Baldock in the slot who fired through Jordan Marr.

Slovakian forward Piatak then doubled the Raiders lead as he picked up the twine following a pass from line-mate Ayliffe in the sixth minute of play.

Head coach Sean Easton and his side then netted five unanswered goals in the middle stanza to put the game out of sight.

Netminder Ethan James cleared the puck up ice to find Grinell-Parke who raced in on goal and forced it beyond Marr to make it 3-0.

Morgan Clarke-Pizzo was sent to the penalty box for tripping and Raiders capitalised on the man advantage as Sylvester picked up Piatak in the slot who faked a shot and dished a backhand pass to Ayliffe to tap home at the back post.

It was soon 5-0 as defenceman Callum Wells raced in and fired home with the assists going to Piatak and captain Aaron Connolly.

Sean Barry then got in on the act as he drove the net to slot home a pass from Connolly to stretch the lead to 6-0 in the 36th minute.

Sylvester then fired a shot in the top corner with just over two minutes left to play in the second period before Hounsome found the back of the net to end the period 8-0.

Piatak then grabbed his second of the match early in the third period to make it 9-0 before Jarvis Hunt claimed a consolation goal in the final 90 seconds with the assist going to Morgan Clarke-Pizzo.
