Raiders 0 - 3 Bees

December 28, 2021 - 19:00

Everyone Active Raiders crashed to a third consecutive defeat as they lost 3-0 to Bees IHC on Tuesday evening.

A brace from Dominic Gabaj and a goal from Edward Bradley sealed the points for Doug Sheppard’s side at the Sapphire Ice and Leisure Centre.

It was a cagey end-to-end affair with both sides defending well to keep the goals out at both ends of the ice.

Both sides had chances but it wasn’t until the final five minutes when the Bees broke the deadlock to open the game up in the dying stages.

Raiders had a man advantage as James Galazzi was sent to the penalty box for slashing but a turnover led to Gabaj breaking up the ice and finding Bradley to make it 1-0 while shorthanded.

The hosts had nothing to lose and pushed up the ice before pulling netminder Ethan James but Gabaj fired into the empty net to make it 2-0 with less than a minute left.

Defenceman Callum Burnett threw a big hit which saw Bees forward Lewis English charge in and drop the gloves before going off for fighting.

Raiders tried to pull the goalie once again in the dying stages but once again a face-off led to Bees breaking up the ice and Gabaj notched his second of the match with second empty net goal.
