Raiders work with local charity Havering Mind

Raiders charity partner 2019-2020

Raiders have been delighted to assist with a number of charities over the last few years and this season will see us linking up with Havering Mind, the local mental health charity, based in Hornchurch.

Havering Mind are affiliated with the more familiar Mind charity that operates nationally, but do not receive any funding from National Mind which means that working with fund raisers such as the Raiders can be an important part of their existence.

Havering Mind support and educate people about mental health issues in the local community. That is generally done through:
• Providing advice and information
• Helping individuals learn how to manage their mental health
• Providing activities to create peer support.

To learn more on their work check out their web site below.

Coming soon to Havering will be their regular fund raiser Wings & Wheels event held at Damyns Hall Aerodrome in Upminster this year on Sunday 21st July.

Wings and Wheels details and tickets

Raiders will be supporting the charity in our normal way with a warm up shirt design reflecting the organisations logo and as usual a large proportion of the income from the charity shirts will go towards the charity. Watch out for the reveal of yet another great design over the next few days/

One game during the season will be selected to fund raise for the charity and perhaps more importantly raise awareness of their good work in the area. Raiders will play the entire game in the charity shirt and Havering Mind will be in attendance to raise funds during the game. As with last season the 50:50 proceeds from that game will also end up in their collection buckets!

Early discussions are taking place regarding another charity walk and attendance at this year’s Havering Show so keep an eye on the web site and social media for more on this soon.
