Raiders winning streak ended (like all good things!)

January 7, 2019

Following an 8-1 victory in the US challenge game on Friday and a tight 4-3 win against Streatham in the London Derby on Saturday Raiders were brought back down to earth on Sunday in Peterborough.

The display in Peterborough perhaps brought home that Raiders Christmas break has taken some of the momentum out of the team and the US challenge and a weakened Streatham did not make that as obvious as the Peterborough game at the Bretton rink.

Coach Sean Easton has two training sessions this week to try to regain the winning streak form and with a one game weekend in Bracknell on Sunday training this week will be key.

The weekend of 19th/20th sees a home and away double against bottom of the league Invicta Dynamos where 4 points would be expected despite the signing of their new “import”. The focus now will be to get back to winning ways next weekend in Bracknell’s John Nike Leisure Centre where Raiders will face Bracknell (and their new import) for the first time since the Bees were part of the Raiders 8 league game winning streak.
