Raiders departure for JJ Pitchley

June 29, 2022

As will have been seen by many on his lengthy Gold and Blue Army Facebook post JJ Pitchley has decided to leave the club. He developed at Romford as a youngster, and then spent a lengthy spell between teams in the US, Basingstoke, Slough and Bracknell over the next 7 years.

JJ leaves after his third spell as a Raider during which he made 252 Appearances, scoring 75 goals and 77 Assists for 152 points picking up 451 penalty minutes.

In his last season, JJ appeared in all 59 Raiders games for 7 goals and 19 assists.

Raiders would like to thank JJ for his effort and charismatic input over the last 6 seasons after he moved back to Raiders from Slough. An energetic forward, no stranger to the rough stuff and penalty box and popular amongst the fans for that and his gregarious nature.

Raiders wish JJ all the best at his next team and are sure he will get a big cheer if he returns here as a visiting player, followed a few minutes later by plenty of boos which I am sure is exactly what he would expect as part of the job!

It’s a funny old game!
