Another two game weekend at the Sapphire 5th and 6th October

October 3, 2019

And another two chances pop up this weekend for Romford hockey fans to watch live their favourite sport.

Raiders Senior Team are involved in more National League action on Saturday 5th as they take the longest journey of the season to Hull, where the rinks repairs have been completed in time for the Raiders arrival. The coach for this trip sets off from the Sapphire at 11am on Saturday so if you want to travel drop a quick email to transport@raidersicehockey.com cost £25

Hull have been seen as one of this seasons favourites, having won the NIHL1 play offs last season and strengthened since and this is going to be a tough game from which Raiders will learn a lot about their own aspirations this season.

Whilst Raiders National are on the road, the Div 1 Raiders face the Milton Keynes Thunder at the Sapphire.

On Sunday 6th it is the chance for Raiders to get some revenge after losing at Swindon on the 21st September in a 15 goal thriller. That game saw a sleepy Raiders fall to a 0-7 deficit before powering back into the game 6-7. Two insurance markers late on handed the points to Swindon 6-9 but Raiders will have taken a lot of heart from the unanswered 6 goal burst that silenced the Swindon crowd and forced a change of tack from the Swindon bench.

Facing two of the top teams in one weekend will be a tough 48 hours for any team in this league but so far Raiders have not been over-run in any game and have shown that with a few more lucky bounces in their favour any of the losses so far could have been reversed.

The Div 1 Raiders have a shorter trip to Milton Keynes where the quickest of return legs sees the possibility of 4 points against the Thunder.
