May 4, 2023

The Raiders are delighted to welcome back to the squad another key pair of players from the 22-23 campaign.

Ethan James has impressed since he return from his transatlantic travels and clearly fits well into the club that was part of his early playing history.

“It felt right to stay, the guys are a good bunch and we have unfinished business to sort out.

“There are always going to be pros and cons to either going or staying which you need to weigh up, but being part of the Raiders is something that I didn’t want to leave. Especially after the season we have just had.

“It also feels good to be playing in Romford after playing here when I was young so to be able to say you’re back at your childhood club is special.”

“Thank you as always to those who come week in week out to support, when times were tough at the start of the season you stuck by us. Having the crowd sizes we did towards the end of the season definitely helped push up to the end. It would be amazing to get the Sapphire that busy going into the season.

“Have faith in the team that Sean is building and we look forward to seeing you all in September.”

After one impressive season in the Gold and Blue we are delighted that this returnee decided that the Romford team is where his playing future lies.

Elliott Dewey will again be patrolling the blue line for the Raiders building upon the great reputation he has already earned.

“It was great to be part of the Raiders last season. We achieved our goals and exceeded others and I’m looking forward to starting the new season with high expectations.

“Sean is building another good team and the atmosphere at the Sapphire made it an easy choice to return to the Gold and Blue.”

Welcome back to Ethan and Elliott a good case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
