The Thursday player announcement moves to the Blue Line

May 28, 2020

As some teams are issuing warnings regarding the forthcoming season and rink predicaments we are pleased to continue to discuss the team we will ice, when we are allowed to play.

Raiders are therefore delighted to continue that very optimistic note with a deserved welcome back to the vastly experienced Dan Scott who has signed for a third season in Gold and Blue for the Raiders. Professional on the ice, Dan is solid during games with a bullet of a shot and is the joker in the pack in the room and during training (and photo sessions).

After extensive experience of over 400 appearances in his career at EIHL with Coventry, and EPL level with Hull, Telford, Slough and Basingstoke, 28 year old Dan brings back that winning experience mentality to the Raiders D. In his two seasons with the Raiders, #13 Dan has made 88 appearances, scoring 12 goals and 44 Assists for 56 point, whilst guiding and mentoring his younger colleagues in Defence.

His leadership skills are recognised as he wore the “A” (Alternate Captain) last season and in his ability to bring out the best in his defensive line mates.
The scoring stats include a senior career record high 9 goals and 24 assists in a season in 2018/19.

Sean Easton was generous with his praise as he summarised:-

“I am please Dan Scott has agreed to stay with the Raiders. Dan is one of the top D Men within our league and we are thrilled to welcome him back.

“He is a professional within the game, great leader and also really helps to develop our younger players at Romford.

“Dan plays a lot of minutes for us in every situation and carries a lot of responsibility but does it all with a smile, a rock in our defensive zone against teams top end players putting his body on the line each shift as well as setting up our offence all of which explains why it was important to have him back.

“Dan will once again deservedly wear the A on his shirt and help lead the Raiders to be bigger and better.”

Dan is pleased to help the team progress to the next level as he explained.

“First of all I hope everyone is doing well in the current Corona Virus situation?

“I can’t wait for the season to begin whenever that maybe. I know Sean will put together a good team and I’m excited to be part of that. I feel the club is moving in the right direction. We were competing well last year, especially at the end of the year. Hopefully we can start the season how we finished and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay Safe”!

We are confident that this will be a very popular announcement and continues the solid start to the squad for the new season.
Dan’s own and loan sponsored shirts have already been reserved but we do encourage any previous or new sponsor that wishes to have a shirt this season to get on the waiting list to give the best chance of joining our generous and vital team supporters.
