Everyone Active Raiders bounced back to winning ways as they sealed a narrow 4-3 victory away to peg back title chasing Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday.

Goals from Aaron Connolly, Ollie Baldock, Lukas Sladkovsky and Jake Sylvester guided Sean Easton’s side to victory.

Captain Connolly opened the scoring in the 12th minute of play after linking up with Sylvester before a solid neutral trap saw Baldock steal the puck and shot beyond Matthew Smital to make it 2-0 after 16 minutes.

Less than 30 seconds later the hosts reduced the deficit as Bobby Chamberlain found the back of the net with assists going to Sam Talbot and Lewis Christie who was celebrating his 500th game for the club.

Lewis Clifford’s side came out hard in the second, which saw them level the score just over four minutes into the period, when Russ Cowley scored with assists going to Adam Laishram and Christie. Talbot then gave Lightning a 3-2 lead as he notched a goal on the power play when JJ Pitchley was called for a tripping penalty.

Raiders fought back as Czech forward Sladkovsky tied the game in the 45th minute with Sylvester picking up his second assist of the game. Sylvester then pulled off a silky move before picking out the corner to seal a 4-3 win for the Raiders with just under four minutes left to play.
