Invicta Mustangs 3 - 6 Raiders 2

September 15, 2018 - 17:15 at Planet Ice Gillingham

An early penalty against Bradley Gutridge gave the visitors a power play chance, which they made full use of as Kamil Kinkor converted with only two minutes on the clock.

Thomas Mallett replied soon after to level, but Tommy Huggett restored the Raiders lead in the sixth minute and Kinkor claimed his second goal of the night at 8.16.

George Gell got in on the act to make it 4-1 on 12 minutes, completing a fine first period for the newcomers.

And Huggett grabbed his second and Raiders fifth before the midway point, when Raiders replaced Zach Grandy-Smith between the posts with Bradley Windebank.

Jake Stedman struck Invicta’s second goal just seconds after the change and a delay of game penalty against Jake Hall gave the home side a chance to net on a power play towards the end of the middle session through Joe Bliss.

But Raiders had the last word early in the final period as Alan Lack put them 6-3 ahead, although they lost Brandon Webster to a 5+game penalty for slashing moments later.
