Raiders take momentum into the Play-Offs

April 1, 2023

Raiders follow their historic double overtime 4 point weekend with another 4 pointer as both Bees and Swindon fall to the form pre-play-off team.

A comfortable 8-2 win versus Bees at the Sapphire on Friday night was witnessed by the biggest and noisiest crowd of the season.

Saturday’s trip to Swindon was a less comfortable margin of 3-4 but significantly showed again that the team have matured this season being able to close out games when under pressure. This without the 2 way players who were helping the Div1 Raiders win their first play off leg 2-4 in Slough.

With MK beating Leeds and Bristol beating Phantoms the play-off opponent for the Raiders has been confirmed with MK securing 2nd place in the league whilst Peterborough are now confirmed as 3rd.

Peterborough have exercised their option of claiming dates and have chosen to take the second leg at Peterborough on Sunday 9th with Raiders hosting the Phantoms at the Sapphire on Saturday 8th April.

Raiders ticketing and streaming sites will be updated over the next couple of days to allow purchase of tickets for the Saturday game. Social media will be updated to advise when this is completed.

It has been a fantastic regular season and the coaching and playing team have stepped up to the challenges set out in what is one of the most competitive and highest standards leagues, possibly in the team’s history. We will leave that latter point for debate by those that have witnessed several decades of Raiders trials and tribulations.

But now to the Play-Offs and Raiders look forward to welcoming the Phantoms next Saturday, face off 5:15pm and seeing another noisy crowd getting behind the team as the G&B Army do what they do best.
