The Everyone Active Raiders are delighted to be able to reveal the fixtures for their return to a full National League competition. Before doing so, thanks for this arduous task should go to Gary Dent and the various team and rink managements, for attempting to keep all parties satisfied.
The pre-season challenge pair against Bracknell has already been revealed for 14th / 15th September but Raiders will have marked your wall calendar the weekend before as firstly the meet the players event will be Saturday 7th September and then on Sunday 8th we will offer an early evening “skate with the players” an event that proved hugely popular last season.
The full fixture list is shown below and demonstrates the packed schedule that this season represents with just two weekend dates free between 21st September 2019 and potentially the 19th April 2020.
The eagle eyed will have noted that the first game, home and away, against all opposition also counts towards this season’s cup competition. For teams that progress into the semi finals and finals these games will therefore need to be played mid-week evenings.
As is the historical Raiders’ trend home games at the Sapphire are targetted for Sundays but in an attempt to satisfy all teams preferences we do have 8 Sapphire Saturdays to contend with. Also of note is the double home weekend against Peterborough and MK.
The new “Northern Shirts” waste no time in being revealed as Telford visit on Saturday of the second league weekend. Quick laundry turn around will be required for our trip to Sheffield the very next day. The Sheffield coach legs will barely have been shaken off when the next Saturday we are back up the M1 on the road to Hull. Fortunately we can relax against Swindon the following day in the Sapphire.
So get planning your weekends, your trips away and your coach bookings as now the fixtures are out the season is just around the corner! Just 7 hockey free weekends left to get the garden and decorating sorted.
