Raiders first addition, adds great experience and points production

May 1, 2023

With the Basingstoke team taking a hopefully brief break from the game, Raiders are delighted to be able to bring on board the current captain of the team and experienced British forward George Norcliffe.

George has played at Basingstoke for four seasons, joining Bison at the time of Aaron Connolly’s leaving and has made a total of 193 appearances, scoring 71 goals and 60 assists for 131 points (including 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 points in 57 appearances last season).

George joked that “Three Bison captains have joined Raiders so it really felt like my duty to come!

“I’m really excited to be joining the Raiders. I have heard nothing but good things about the whole organisation. I know how difficult it is to play against Raiders, especially with the fans behind them, so I am looking forward to being on the right side of that!.

“I cant wait to get going with the boys and go for some silverware.”

Coach Sean Easton was full of superlatives for George

“George is an all-round player. He plays hard at both ends of the ice with a great hockey IQ.

“George will put up great points as well as being able to defend against top lines.

“A big reason for our success last season was each of our guys had a great team mindset and togetherness and George has all these attributes. He wants to win and knows what it takes to win. I am looking forward to adding George to the Raiders.”

Welcome to the Raiders George.
