September 9, 2022

Raiders are delighted to welcome 25 year old, Canadian / British dual national Adam Laishram to fill the vacant import slot whilst our full time replacement for Ryan Shaw completes his visa and enabling permits.

Adam who is at University in London spent last season at Milton Keynes Lightning where he made 61 appearances, scoring a respectable 21 goals and 31 assists for 52 points.

Prior to arriving in England, Adam played in the USports league for St. Francis Xavier University where in three seasons he made 77 appearances, scoring 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points.

Prior to going to University, Adam played his junior career in Ontario , playing AAA at Whitby Wildcats before progressing to OHL where in four seasons playing for Belleville Bulls; Hamilton Bulldogs and Windsor Spitfires, making a total of 240 appearances, scoring 38 goals and 56 assists for 94 points.

Discussions have been ongoing with Adam for some time with Raiders and we were keen to get some sort of working relationship going for this season. The combination of potential injury cover and his desire to not have a full time roster spot seems to work well for both parties.

As Sean Easton confirms:-

“We are very thankful for Adam to help us out whilst we are awaiting visas. Adam is going to college this year in London and has a very busy schedule ahead of him studying, so hockey has not been at the forefront of his mind. But we know he has a great pedigree, knows the league and has had success at MK. Fast skilful and an excellent hockey brain on him will be a huge asset to call upon over the year”.

Welcome to the Raiders Adam

And there is more as the development of two-way playing arrangements strengthen with teams in Division one of the National Ice Hockey League as Raiders are delighted to welcome the following players who strengthen the squad and show the teams ever present willingness to help develop young talent

Sean was again pleased that another player sees the value of developing within a National League team.

“Adam Erskine, still in the junior system, will be playing Slough u18s Slough Jets and a two way to Romford National team. Adam is an exciting prospect, a goal scoring power forward at juniors and our task is to help him translate that into senior hockey.”
